Director of Sales & Market Development

Holstein Association USA is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales and Market Development to lead our sales team and drive growth in our product and service offerings.

Job Purpose:
The Director of Sales & Market Development will lead strategic initiatives aimed at expanding market presence, enhancing member engagement, and driving revenue growth. This key team member is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, and identifying new market opportunities.

Major Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with organizational goals and market trends to maximize revenue from products, services, and membership.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
• Provide leadership and direction to the sales teams in coordination with Regional Sales Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Holstein Marketplace Sires program, in coordination with the Holstein Marketplace Sires Manager.
• Provide leadership and direction to the AgriTech Analytics business, in coordination with the ATA General Manager.
• Identify and explore new market opportunities domestically and internationally to expand the Association’s reach and influence.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including HAUSA members, dairy producers, industry partners, and allied organizations to enhance collaboration and drive mutual growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development and enhancement of products and services that meet the evolving needs of members and the dairy industry.
• Collaborate with team members to explore strategic opportunities for international market expansion and develop and manage budgets related to such activities.


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, animal/dairy science, or a related curriculum is preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in sales or business development within the agriculture or dairy industry (dairy background and knowledge of dairy cattle is desired).
• 6+ years in a supervisory/management role.

Competencies:
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that have driven revenue growth and market expansion, preferably within the agricultural or dairy industry.
• Excellent strategic thinking skills with a forward-looking mindset, able to anticipate market trends and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, verbal, and listening communication skills required.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating high-performing teams.
• Strong telephone and computer skills (including Microsoft Office suite) necessary.
• Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize and work independently in a team environment.
• Understanding of dairy genetics and familiarity with Holstein cattle breeding is a plus.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel)
• Some travel required.

Job Purpose:
To objectively and accurately evaluate cows and offer informative, promotional, and educational programs to members and breeders.

Major Responsibilities:
• Objectively and accurately evaluate cows in the classification program as outlined in the classification manual.
• Explain evaluations clearly to herd owners.
• Submit reports and data collected promptly and accurately.
• Encourage participation in all Association services.
• Develop and maintain an efficient and cost-effective work schedule.

Education and Experience:

Accounts Receivable Manager

The Holstein Association seeks a talented Accounts Receivable Manager This position is located in our Brattleboro, VT office.

Job Purpose:
The Manager, Accounts Receivable & Billing Services is responsible for the daily operations of the accounts receivable department which includes managing the accounts receivable/billing services team. This position ensures the accuracy and timeliness of billing for all products and services, is responsible for cash application and accounts receivable collections, and report generation and analysis.

Major Responsibilities:
• Maintain a working knowledge of the Association’s policies, procedures, programs, products, and services in order to manage the department effectively and answer members and customers’ questions.
• Manage the billing services team including hiring, training, conducting performance evaluations, and developing personal growth opportunities.
• Ensure proper billing and collection procedures are followed and documented. Ensure cash application is performed accurately and timely.
• Monitor telephone and written communications by departmental personnel with members and customers ensuring professionalism and quality standards are consistently met.
• Ensure all billing performed by the accounts receivable/billing department is done accurately and timely.
• Conduct analyses of financial data, perform reconciliations, and ensure accurate reporting.
• Generate monthly financial and sales reports, review for accuracy, and communicate any concerns.
• Set up new products in the billing system and update pricing as requested.
• Review and update all standard operating procedures.
• Make recommendations for areas of improvement, efficiency, and/or reduced cost.


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, business, or related field, preferred.
• Three + years of accounts receivable, business management or financial accounting experience.
• Three + years of experience supervising employees.

Competencies:

Customer Information Specialist

Holstein Association USA, Inc., seeks a talented Customer Information Specialist. Ideally this candidate is local to our Fort Atkinson, WI office or Brattleboro, VT office.

Job Purpose:
Provide world-class service and support to Association members and customers by efficiently and effectively working across Identification and Genetic Services departments. In addition, serve as an in-house sales and service representative for key customers.

Major Responsibilities:
Classification Services:
• Maintain an extensive knowledge of classification program options
• Assist customers with applying for classification
• Assisting customers with scheduling questions and changes for classification.
• Research and update classification errors accordingly.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of processing classification scores for registered and pending animal records.

Identification Services:
• Assist customers in ordering genomic tests
• Maintain proficiency in the use of computer programs, including the Association’s database and order entry systems.
• Resolve questions for members and customers regarding genomic testing and parentage verification.
• Review and make appropriate decisions on registration applications that are pending due to genetic and quality assurance questions.
• Adhere to the policies and procedures relating to all quality assurance functions.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the Association’s products, programs, and pricing.

Customer Service:
• Answer incoming member and customer telephone calls and emails to provide support.
• Promote Association products and services as appropriate.

Regional Sales Representative - Eastern PA, MD, DE, and NJ

The Holstein Association seeks dynamic, innovative, and talented Regional Sales Representatives. for Eastern PA, MD, DE, and NJ. The candidate must reside in the Lancaster County area of PA.

Job Purpose:
Promotes and sells Holstein Association USA products and services to current and prospective customers in order to help the Association achieve its annual sales and revenue goals.

Major Responsibilities:
• Increases Holstein Association revenues by selling/providing the full menu of Association products and services, selecting specific products and services for individual dairy producers that will increase both their short-range and long-term profitability.
• Works to continually develop and strengthen personal marketing abilities by constantly upgrading computer skills, staying on the leading edge of Association software and prominent dairy management software, learning new selling techniques, and setting aside time to read and stay current on Holstein and industry topics.
• Enhances the knowledge level about Holstein Association services within the industry by attending/participating in sales, shows, member meetings, seminars, trade shows, and conferences where education and promotion can be accomplished
• Works to improve Association products and services by providing feedback to product managers and other Brattleboro staff on ways to increase the usefulness and value of our current services and offering ideas for new services. Maintains a professional attitude about current products at all times.
• Develops a network of industry contacts within assigned territory in order to remain up to date on industry developments and obtain new business prospects
• Supports all Holstein Association staff by giving field assistance when appropriate and maintaining a professional team attitude while dealing with criticism of operations and/or other staff.


Education and Experience:
• BS in Dairy Science, Animal Science, Business or related field, preferred
• 3+ years of experience, preferred
